Oathbreaker

Oathbreaker stands out among the Named Blades as one of the few to achieve true sentience, making it a formidable and dangerous weapon. Crafted in the secretive forge of Heart's Hall, this sword possesses a dark and fearsome aura that has earned it a chilling reputation among  those who know of its existence.

The Temptation of Power:

Unlike many other Named Blades that are known to choose their wielders, Oathbreaker seems to have its own will, often mastering those who attempt to wield it. Instead of serving its wielder, this malevolent blade is said to tempt and corrupt them with sinister thoughts and visions. The weapon is known to inflict its wielder's mind with disturbing and perverse temptations, leading them to contemplate unthinkable acts of violence and depravity.

A Burden to the Turmoleli Clan:

Oathbreaker's malevolence and the chaos it sows have become too great a burden for any clan to bear. Some suggest that the Turmoleli clan, who may have been unfortunate enough to possess the blade, decided to bury it in desperation to be rid of the wretched weapon. The clan may have feared the disastrous consequences of continuing to hold Oathbreaker, knowing the potential harm it could cause.

Driven to Madness:

The power of Oathbreaker is such that it can drive its wielder to madness and uncontrollable rage. The sword's insidious influence can lead the bearer to turn on their own loved ones, driven to commit acts of violence against those they once cherished. The horrors inflicted by Oathbreaker extend far beyond the battlefield, causing devastation and tragedy in the lives of those unfortunate enough to possess it.

A Symbol of Darkness:

Oathbreaker's sentience and malevolence make it a symbol of darkness and corruption. The sword serves as a cautionary tale of the dangers of seeking power beyond one's control and the consequences of unleashing such malevolent forces into the world.

Buried to Contain its Evil:

The decision to bury Oathbreaker was an act of containment, an attempt to lock away its dark powers and prevent further harm. The burial of the blade was a desperate measure to protect others from its malevolence and to prevent its corrupting influence from spreading.

Oathbreaker is the only known Named Blade to be buried without a companion warrior.
