Varindale is a far-off city, located in a land unknown to most inhabitants of the town of Keth. Mara carries with her tales and experiences from a land far beyond the borders of Meskrell, but she seldom talks about her homeland, and never with her customers.
Mara speaks several languages and can read several others. She finds little use for her linguistic skills and even less demand. She takes care of the orphan, Rosie, along with the help of Tally and Lorelei Nightshade. Mara know Marchan Stad has eventual plans for the orphan, but Mara intends to take the girl far from Keth once she has enough money saved.
